Dr. Ernie Baker, a longtime professor at The Master’s University (most recently in TMU’s online biblical counseling program), is returning to campus this fall to chair TMU’s Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling (MABC) program.

“TMU has a long and historic heritage in the biblical counseling movement, and I am excited to continue this heritage,” Baker says. “The world is overflowing with counseling needs, and it needs TMU grads who know the power of the gospel and are empowered by the Spirit. I can’t think of a better place to equip students with TMU’s commitment to Christ and Scripture.”

Baker has been involved at TMU since he was first hired as an MABC professor in 2005. He brings a deep well of experience in biblical counseling to his new role at TMU, being a Fellow with ACBC (the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors) and a published author on topics in biblical counseling.

“We are thrilled to have Dr. Baker back on campus,” says Dr. Mitch Hopewell, TMU’s provost and chief academic officer. “His wise leadership of our online biblical counseling program has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to Christ and Scripture that will serve our graduate program well. With his keen sense of what’s happening in the realm of biblical counseling and deep love for our students, I look forward to how his leadership will enable our program to serve the church for generations to come.”
