This upcoming semester, The Master’s University will begin celebrating its long-awaited Centennial. It is a milestone that represents not only 100 years of the school’s commitment to Christ and Scripture, but more importantly, 100 years of God’s faithfulness to the school.
TMU will observe the Centennial during the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters, highlighted by the launch of a Centennial website in September and a celebratory alumni event during Truth & Life in January. The year will also be a crucial preparatory time as TMU looks ahead to the next century. Dr. Abner Chou, president of the University, explains the importance of this moment.
“A centennial connects with the past, and then it looks forward to the future,” he said. “This is a time to make sure we put together all the convictions and all the lessons that we learned and fought so hard for the last 100 years, for the sake of the next generation.”
Upholding this century-long legacy will ensure that future generations of faithful men and women pass through the University and into the world powerfully equipped to live as ambassadors of Christ. To that end, the various Centennial-themed events around campus this year will emphasize TMU’s resolve to remain faithful to the lordship of Christ and inerrancy of Scripture.
Prominent among these events will be the Sufficiency of Scripture Summit on Nov. 6-7, 2026, at Grace Community Church. TMU is partnering with affiliated ministries to host this special event, designed to galvanize today’s generation of the church to understand, embrace, and defend the doctrine of the sufficiency of Scripture.
TMU’s Centennial celebrations will also include the launch of a Centennial website in September featuring stories, testimonies, an interactive timeline, and an alumni map. The Master’s University Magazine will also be releasing three special editions themed around the past, present, and future of TMU.
The annual Truth & Life Conference (Jan. 13-16) will feature a Centennial Celebration, an on-campus event where alumni and friends of the University will be invited to join TMU in celebrating God’s work in and through the institution throughout the decades.
This year of celebration, reflection, and renewed resolve will culminate in the 100th annual Commencement Ceremony in May, followed by TMU’s official founding anniversary on May 17, 2027.
Together, these projects and events will tell the story of TMU’s history through the last 100 years, demonstrating the remarkable scope of influence the Lord has granted through TMU’s alumni, who represent Christ in ministries and industries around the world. The Centennial celebration will also outline the measures TMU is taking today to prepare for another 100 years of equipping the next generations of the church for lifelong faithfulness to Christ and Scripture.
