Val graduated from The Master’s University in 2018 with her bachelor’s degree in Biblical Counseling. During her 3 years at TMU she lived in Dixon Hall and participated in the IBEX program. After graduation she served in the Admissions Department as an Admissions Recruiter and Counselor for 4 years and now has the privilege to serve the Canyon Homes women as an RD. Val is passionate about ministry and loves spending time serving her local church. In 2020, Val started her Master of Arts in Biblical Counseling in hopes to be better equipped to serve those around her. In her free time, Val loves hosting game nights, baking sourdough, and getting coffee with friends. Her favorite bible verses are Psalms 119:68, Romans 5:3-5, and James 2-4.
Tyler was born and raised in San Jose. He studied communications at TMU and threw javelin for the track team. Tyler worked in campus life at TMU and has been an RD since the fall of 2022. Tyler and his wife Sophia love to beat others in pickleball and Catan. Tyler’s life has been greatly impacted through Romans 6 and the parable of the talents in Matthew 25. Tyler has a passion for people and helping them find their God given talents.
Since their recent creation, the canyon homes have been a truly unique and exciting place to live. Located in Placerita Canyon, the homes are close to campus, yet students enjoy the benefits of living in a home.
Living in a Canyon home gives each student a unique housing opportunity to have a close-knit community and to serve others. Each home looks different but has the same amenities: kitchen, bathrooms, living room, laundry room, dining room.
Every Canyon Homes has an RA and WA that are there to create intentional community and fun in their home.
