This upcoming semester, the John P. Stead School of Humanities at The Master’s University will welcome Dr. Jacob Nelson to the classroom as a professor of political studies.
Nelson holds a doctorate in politics from Hillsdale College’s Graduate School of Statesmanship. Having previously taught at Chula Vista Christian University, Nelson stresses the importance of education with a biblical framework.
“What drew me to the program at TMU was the emphasis on the Bible as our polar star,” he said, “and approaching politics from a perspective that takes into consideration what is objectively good and just.”
Nelson fell in love with the study of politics in high school, citing his many dedicated teachers and professors who inspired his passion for the subject.
“I was poured into by so many excellent teachers in my life,” Nelson said. “It was incredibly formative to the person that I am now, and nothing would bring me greater joy than to be able to pour into others’ lives in the same way.”
Dr. Gregg Frazer, dean of the John P. Stead School of Humanities, believes Nelson will be an excellent addition to the school, praising his subject expertise and calling him someone “who will contribute to the extraordinary collegiality of our faculty.”
