The Master’s University builds each financial aid package around the individual student, rather than offering a one-size discount. An academic award forms the foundation, and additional support comes from the student’s church, pastor, ministries, and family circumstances. The University also matches a church’s gift dollar for dollar, so students can trust God’s provision through His people.
Paul wrote Philippians 4:19 to a congregation that had just sent him a gift. The promise that God would supply every need was fulfilled through the generosity of His people, and that remains His ordinary way. The Master’s University builds financial aid on that pattern, because an education for Christ and Scripture is a stewardship shared by the student, the family, the church, and the University together.
TMU builds its financial aid packages in layers. This includes academic scholarships, awarded according to the student’s grades and test scores. The highest level is the President’s Academic Scholarship, which awards a combined $90,000 in aid. Applicants who meet all eligibility criteria for this level qualify to be invited to join TMU’s Dr. Milton Fish Academic Honors Society.
Another layer is formed by community-based aid. A member of one of the 300 churches of The Master’s Fellowship may receive the Church Partner Scholarship (up to $14,000 over four years) with a pastor’s recommendation. When a church or ministry gives toward a student’s education, the Ministry Matching Grant matches that gift dollar for dollar (up to $20,000 over four years).
Dependents of pastors and missionaries, including the families of the 90 alumni serving with Grace Ministries International, receive Pastor and Missionary Dependent aid. We also offers scholarships for first-generation college students, the children of parents in law enforcement or fire service, and students of TMU’s partner schools.
“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
For five incoming students each year, TMU’s Steadfast Scholarship offers complete tuition coverage — read more on that opportunity below. Meanwhile, every early applicant receives TMU’s Early Admission Scholarship and a waived application fee.
TMU is priced competitively among private Christian universities in California, and nearly every student receives some form of aid. We desire to make an education for Christ and Scripture possible for every family willing to pursue it, and to do so without the debt that Scripture warns makes “the borrower the slave of the lender” (Proverbs 22:7). Wealth without wisdom is vanity (Ecclesiastes 5:12). See our article A Perspective to Consider Regarding College Loans.
We encourage prospective students to be faithful, ask the questions, let a counselor show you what your package would be, and trust the Lord, through His people, with the rest.
One of the best financial aid opportunities available to incoming traditional, on-campus students is TMU’s full-tuition Steadfast Scholarship.
This unique scholarship, which honors Dr. John Stead (TMU’s executive vice president and longtime faculty member), combines all existing financial aid that a student receives and then supplements the remaining amount to offer a full-tuition scholarship.
There are five scholarships available for fall 2027 freshmen. Applications for this opportunity open Nov. 1 and close Jan. 1, 2027. Learn more and apply here.
The Steadfast Scholarship is one of a wide variety of financial aid and scholarship options available to future students this year. Below are some of the other scholarships available for fall 2027.
