Important Dates to Remember

Graduates who are approved by the Registrar to graduate will receive details on these special dates via their student email. 

Commencement Practice

Friday, May 9

Location: TMU MacArthur Center (Gym), 10:00am – 11:00am

This is a MANDATORY event for all graduates. We will walk through the entire event. This is your opportunity to ensure your Dean will pronounce your name correctly. After practice, your professors have a special farewell reception with refreshments.

Line-Up for Commencement

Friday, May 9

Location: TMU MacArthur Center (Gym).

Please be in line BY 6:30 pm. You will be handed a name card. DO NOT LOSE YOUR NAME CARD! You will give your name card to your dean as you approach them on stage for your name to be read as you cross the stage. Do not fold the card. Do not have anything else in your hands (other than a hood for master’s programs). Please leave any possessions that do not fit into pockets with your guests.

You won’t have bathroom access for at least an hour, so plan accordingly.

Tickets and Parking

Tickets and Parking Passes for graduates who have completed their grad contract will receive an email with a link to reserve tickets beginning March 10, 2025.

Tickets for faculty, staff and non-graduating TMU students will be available beginning April 21,2025.

TICKETS

• e-Tickets are required for entrance. No physical tickets will be provided. All tickets will be sent to the email address provided in the ticket ordering process. If tickets are not received, please check your email’s other folders, such as junk or clutter OR use the “Sign In” feature on the ticketing website.
• Limit of 7 tickets per graduating student.
• One ticket required per seat.
• Children sitting on a lap or in a stroller do not need a ticket.

PARKING

• Parking passes must be purchased for every vehicle.
• Student, Faculty & Staff 2024-2025 TMU parking permits will not be valid during commencement. Please be sure that you reserve a parking pass for the event when reserving tickets.
• Handicapped parking and entrance will be along the south side of the field.

Commencement Regalia

Regalia will be distributed to students at the Alumni Grad Dinner on Tuesday, April 8th, 2025.

Graduates who were not able to attend may pick up their regalia from the Registrar’s Office during these hours: (to be updated for 2025)

• April 19: until 4:30pm
• April 22-26: 9am – 4:30pm
• April 29 – May 1: 8:30a – 4:30pm
• May 2: 8:30am – 5 pm
• May 3: Closed. Remaining regalia will be brought to Commencement Practice.

Regalia care:

• Hang up your regalia immediately, or hang it in the bathroom to steam while showering to get rid of wrinkles. When using an iron, use LOW settings.
• Caps are worn parallel to the ground with the tassel on the right.
• Graduate level hoods will be carried over the arm until you are hooded on stage by faculty.
• All regalia is yours to keep!
• Decorated caps & leis are not allowed.
• Robe Care – DO NOT iron. Steam and hang with care as soon as possible (no later than the day before).
• Caps – No decorations on graduation caps.
• Attire – Sunday best. Keep an eye out for the weather. It may get chilly at night.
• Shoes – Turf field. No flip-flops or stilettos.
