The Lord has always put His people where the light is needed. He has also put a faithful church, a faithful university, and a family of ministries in one valley.
California is where the Lord has gathered many faithful churches, thousands of The Master’s University and Seminary alumni serving in them, and a university that has held to the inerrancy, sufficiency, and authority of Scripture, without compromise, for the past 100 years. Nowhere in the world is there a better place to be formed for Christ and Scripture.
Our Lord did not tell His disciples to find a quiet place. He told them they were the light of the world, and that a city set on a hill cannot be hidden (Matthew 5:14). California is such a hill. It is watched, it is contested, and it is where God, in His kindness, has gathered an uncommon concentration of faithful work.
The Master’s University has stood here since 1927, under three names and one conviction: that Scripture is inerrant, authoritative, and sufficient, and that Jesus Christ is Lord over every discipline. We do not say this as a boast. We say it as a testimony to God’s faithfulness across a hundred years, and as a description of what a student will find in every classroom.

TMU does not stand alone. Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, 25 miles from campus, was fed for more than 50 years by the expository preaching of Dr. John MacArthur. Many of our students are members there, sitting under the Word on Sundays, serving in children’s ministry and other areas, and learning what it means to belong to a local body (Hebrews 10:24-25).
The Master’s Seminary, located at Grace Community Church, has sent more than 2,000 graduates into 45 countries to be faithful past0r-teachers. Grace to You, which has broadcast faithful Bible teaching since 1969, is headquartered minutes from TMU’s campus. The Master’s Academy International trains indigenous pastors through 19 schools in 86 countries and is led by a graduate of TMU.

TMU itself is located in Santa Clarita, 30 miles north of Los Angeles. Our campus is ranked by Niche among the top 4% of safest college campuses in America, in a city that consistently ranks among the safest in the nation.
Our campus enjoys mountains in one direction, beaches in the other, and sunshine nearly every day. TMU students surf before chapel, hike after class, and spend weekends at the coast or in the snow. The friendships formed here, centered on Scripture and surrounded by the beauty of God’s creation, tend to last a lifetime.
TMU is a community where students gather for chapel three times a week, are required to attend a local church weekly, and sit under faculty members who affirm every line of the University’s doctrinal statement. Southern California is famous for its many beaches and coastal towns. Zuma Beach, Santa Monica Beach, and Carpinteria City Beach are some TMU favorites, all within an hour of campus.
Los Angeles features opportunities for students of every interest, from museums and concert venues to world-class restaurants and the Los Angeles Zoo. The Getty and Griffith Observatory are two staples of the TMU experience.
Six Flags Magic Mountain is another long-standing, iconic landmark for TMU students, featuring record-breaking roller coasters and rides. And right next door is Hurricane Harbor, an adjoining waterpark that’s perfect for warm August Saturdays.
The Santa Clarita Valley is full of natural beauty, housing over 36 parks and 100 miles of trails for hiking and biking. Santa Clarita’s Mediterranean climate means that students can enjoy getting outdoors almost every day of the year.
In the colder months, Southern California’s ski parks and resorts offer a great getaway to TMU students. There are skiing and snowboarding spots located less than two hours from campus.
Santa Clarita features a wide variety of local restaurants, in addition to standard TMU favorites like In-N-Out Burger and MOD Pizza. TMU’s campus also enjoys a vibrant local coffee shop culture — on top of having Trophy Coffee right on campus.
