This past Sunday, Dr. Nathan Busenitz — alumnus of The Master’s University and Seminary, and executive vice president of TMS — was announced as the new senior pastor of Grace Community Church.
“Nathan’s appointment is a wondrous answer to prayer for Grace Community Church and a significant moment for the entire TMUS family,” said Dr. Abner Chou, president of TMUS.

Busenitz has a long history with TMU, graduating from what was then The Master’s College in 1999 with a degree in communication. He then went on to earn two master’s degrees and a doctorate from TMS. He taught as an adjunct at both TMU and TMS, and more recently has served TMS as executive vice president, provost, and professor of historical theology.
Busenitz’s appointment was announced on the anniversary of Dr. John MacArthur’s memorial service. MacArthur served as pastor of Grace Community Church for 56 years, and he provided leadership as president and then chancellor of TMU for a combined 40 years.
“We are deeply grateful to the Chief Shepherd for providing a shepherd for Grace Church and rejoice with them in this appointment,” said Chou. “Nathan has served The Master’s Seminary with distinction, bringing unwavering conviction, wisdom, compassion, and tireless commitment to his leadership of the faculty and staff in the training of pastors. I know he will bring that same devotion to the flock of Grace Church. We are praying for him and his family as he takes up this new responsibility, and we look ahead with great joy and confidence to how God will use him in the years ahead.”
