Welcome to The Master’s University

Join us for the start of the Week of Welcome!

We are excited that your student will be joining The Master’s University, and we also want to welcome parents into our family. We understand that embarking on this new journey is an exciting time filled with curiosity, anticipation, and perhaps a bit of apprehension. To help your student navigate through this transition, our Student Life team encourages them to participate in our upcoming Week of Welcome (WOW!).

Our Week of Welcome is not just an essential introduction to the TMU campus. A strong correlation also exists between attendance at orientation and academic success. Research shows that students are more likely to enjoy a positive student life experience if they participate in orientation. WOW! is a fun-filled week dedicated to familiarizing your student with our campus environment and equipping them with the necessary information to make their start at TMU both memorable and stress-free.

WOW! begins with a special event on Saturday where your student will be able to check in and kick off their journey with us.

WOW! Saturday

1. Check-In: The journey begins! Here, they will receive their orientation package, dorm keys, and any other necessary materials to kick-start their TMU experience. We’ve included the schedule in this newsletter for specific check-in times for the Saturday, August 17th schedule.
2. The President’s Commissioning: The day’s highlight will be the President’s Commissioning. Our President, Dr. Abner Chou, will address students and parents, sharing his vision for the upcoming academic year, before leading us in communal prayer for a prosperous and enriching year ahead. At the end of this event, students and parents will say goodbye before heading to separate activities.

1. • Students – Meet Your Dorms: After the President’s Commissioning, students will be guided to their dorms, where they will be able to familiarize themselves with their living spaces and meet their fellow dorm mates.
   • Parent Reception: Parents are invited to meet and hear from our President, Dr. Abner Chou, and TMU’s Student Life leadership team to gain a comprehensive understanding of the University’s goals and initiatives. It is an excellent opportunity to come together and become a part of the TMU community. Please note that these are just the highlights of the “first day!”Parent Reception RSVP

Because of the undeniable benefit, the expectation for our Week of Welcome is the attendance of all incoming freshmen at all events. Week of Welcome provides a variety of informative, engaging, and, yes, fun activities throughout the week. If your student cannot be present for these events, please have them contact us to let us know. However, we wholeheartedly encourage them to participate in this week-long event uniquely designed to make them feel at home and help them become a part of our close-knit community.
