Registration is still open for the annual Winter 5K hosted by The Master’s University. This year’s event is taking place Jan. 17 and invites local runners to start 2026 with a scenic run through Placerita Canyon and Quigley Canyon Open Space.
Since 2011, The Master’s University Winter 5K has been a favorite among Santa Clarita’s runners thanks to the welcoming atmosphere and community partnerships. The race boasts a flat course with varying terrain, perfect for participants of all ages and abilities.
The 2026 race has three brackets: the Kids 1K, the Run/Walk 5K, and a more competitive 5K race called the 5K Challenge. Registration for all three brackets will be open through Jan. 15, and race day registration is also expected to be available.
The 5K Challenge will be limited to participants whose goal is to complete the race in around 35 minutes. The traditional 5K Run/Walk will take place immediately following the 5K Challenge.
