We are grateful that first responders have made significant progress in controlling the Hughes fire, and there remains no immediate threat to our campus at this time. We will continue to monitor the situation, but this will be the final update on the Hughes fire unless conditions change significantly.

The Hughes fire — burning in the Castaic area — currently poses no immediate threat to campus. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and will provide updates if conditions change.

We are closely monitoring the Hughes fire, which broke out this morning in the area of Castaic Lake. At this time, the fire poses no immediate threat to campus.

As we prepare for the Truth & Life Conference to begin this evening, TMU continues to operate normally. There is no threat to campus at this time. We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide an update if conditions change.

There continues to be no threat to The Master’s University campus at this time. We are actively monitoring the fire situation and will provide updates promptly if anything changes.

Jan. 13, 2025 | 9 a.m.

As we prepare for the Truth & Life Conference and a new academic semester, we are also keeping first responders and those impacted by the fires across Los Angeles County in our prayers.

By God’s grace, everything at TMU is operating normally. These fires are not a threat to our campus at this time. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and are prepared to respond safely should conditions change.

We continue to thank the Lord for His protection of campus. Neither the Hurst fire (Sylmar area) or Lidia fire (Acton) present an immediate threat to TMU at this time. University officials will continue to closely monitor both fires and update faculty, staff, and students should conditions change. As of now, planned campus operations and activities will continue as normal this evening and into Thursday, Jan. 9. Thank you for your continued prayers for all first responders and anyone who has suffered loss during this difficult time.

We are closely monitoring the Hurst fire situation, and while we will continue to do so, there is currently no immediate threat to campus. Winterim classes will proceed as scheduled, and campus operations remain normal. The safety of our students, faculty, and staff is at the forefront of our minds, and we have an evacuation plan in place should it be needed.

If a student is impacted by the fires, or if their family is facing disruption, they are encouraged to let their Winterim professor know. If necessary, Winterim classes can still be dropped by Jan. 9.

Hurst Fire Update

The Lord was very gracious in keeping the Hurst fire away from TMU last night. Campus remains open, while we continue to monitor the fire. Please pray for all first responders and any who suffered loss during this difficult time.
