Assistant Professor of Biology
Dr. Steve Pekovich is a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences at TMU, where he teaches Immunology, Microbiology, and Genetics. He earned his B.A. in Microbiology from UC Santa Barbara and completed a Ph.D. in Molecular Biology at Vanderbilt University. Throughout his career, Dr. Pekovich has contributed to both research and education at institutions such as Northwest Nazarene University, the College of Western Idaho, and Westmont College.
In addition to his academic achievements, Dr. Pekovich has embraced entrepreneurial ventures. He founded an auction house specializing in sports memorabilia and established American Family Research, a company that leverages genetics to assist adoptive children in tracing their biological roots.
His current research focuses on prostate cancer, particularly the molecular signals driving metastasis. Steve and his wife, Kirstin, are blessed parents to four children.
