I was born and raised in San Diego County and loved going on family hikes and beach days with my friends. My parents raised my two sisters and I, faithfully teaching us the Word of God, holding to sound doctrine. Growing up as a pastor’s kid, the importance of not only attending church but being involved within the ministry of the local church was something instilled in me from a young age.
My mom had attended The Master’s University and so from a young age I knew I wanted to follow in her footsteps. When it was time to apply for colleges, I also knew I wanted to study the Bible and biblical counseling, so for me it was a no brainer to apply to The Master’s University. It was important for me to go to a school that held firmly to sound, biblical teaching, especially within the biblical counseling department.
I was impacted greatly by the professors and the care that they showed for each of their students, not just in my Bible classes but in all my general education courses as well. I was able to study abroad my senior year with the TMU Italy program, and my time there taught me how to view art and history with a biblical worldview. Along with my fellow classmates I learned the beauty of slowing down, and found the desire instilled in me to continue to learn even after graduation.
The Lord has been so kind and my three years at Master’s have been so formative in my walk with the Lord. Through my time serving on dorm staff, the Lord continued to sanctify me and showed me the value of biblical friendship. There are always ways to get involved on campus, and I encourage students to seek out those opportunities. The community and friendships I made at Master’s will carry on for the rest of my life. Master’s helped me to shape my biblical worldview and to see everything in my life should be centered on Christ. I am excited to be an admissions counselor here at the University and to be a resource for future students, sharing my experiences with them and being a part of their journey on the road to The Master’s University!
