High School Requirements
  • Faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.
  • A minimum high school GPA of 2.75 is required, though the average incoming GPA at TMU is typically around 3.75.
  • Applicants must have a minimum SAT score of 1020 (combined critical reading and math) or an ACT score of at least 21. The average SAT score is 1150, and the average ACT score is 24. Please note that the essay portions of both exams are not required. TMU also accepts the CLT.
  • A high school diploma with the necessary coursework, as outlined in your transcript, is required.
  • Required high school coursework includes:
    • 4 years of English
    • 3 years of Math
    • 2 years of History
    • 2 years of Science
    • While not mandatory, completing a Foreign Language course is strongly encouraged.

For students interested in majoring in Biological or Physical Sciences, it is highly recommended to take as many advanced science courses as possible. At a minimum, one year each of Biology and Chemistry should be completed. Additional coursework in Physics and Calculus will also provide a solid foundation for success in these fields.

College Credits & Articulation Agreements

To receive transferable credit, official transcripts from each college or university must be submitted. We also accept CLEP, AP, and IB credits, with a maximum of 18 CLEP units allowed and a combined limit of 32 units for CLEP, AP, and IB credits.

High School Requirements: 4 Years of English, 3 Years of Math, 2 Years of Science, 2 Years of History, no Foreign Language Requirement.

Homeschool Transcripts:

  • Transcripts include each class from 9th grade with a letter grade assigned to each class.
  • The transcript must use a credit system to calculate GPA.
  • The transcript must be current through the date of applying and a final transcript must be submitted upon completion of schooling.
  • Final transcripts must include the graduation date.

If the transcript is produced by the parent, then a parental signature is required along with the date of signing. Please include only the last four digits of the student’s social security number on the transcript. Transcripts must be emailed or sent to TMU by the parent, not the student.

The GED or California Proficiency Exam are accepted in absence of a final transcript.

You may opt to use a transcript service like HSLDA’s Transcript Service for automatic GPA Calculation, professional formatting of academic records, and online access to update transcripts.

Test Scores ( ACT, SAT or CLT)

Test Scores ( ACT, SAT or CLT) are waived for transfer applicants. A transfer applicant typically has 24 or more transferrable units.

TMU accepts ACT, SAT or CLT scores.

Financial Aid

Once admitted, your financial aid application is automatically submitted to our financial aid office. This does not include the FAFSA, so be sure to complete it at fafsa.ed.gov with our Federal School Code 001220. Students may also complete additional applications for Music, Athletics, and outside scholarships. We offer merit-based scholarships, need-based grants, and federal/state Aid. In general, all aid is awarded up to 4 years/8 semesters and evenly disbursed between the two semesters.
