Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a ticket?

Beginning March 9, 2026, our graduating student will receive 10 guest tickets in their student email upon approval for Commencement. The graduate can then forward the ticket to you through email or transfer it to your email address via the ticketing portal.

You can view any tickets transferred to you by clicking “Find My Tickets” in the top right corner and entering the email address the graduate has transferred the ticket to.

Are any additional tickets or general admission available this year?

We are unable to provide additional guest tickets this year beyond the 10 allotted to each graduate. However, graduates may transfer tickets from their allotment to other graduating students. Instructions for transferring tickets will be provided when tickets are issued beginning March 9, 2026.

Do I need a ticket for a child sitting on my lap or in a stroller?

No, tickets are not needed for children sitting on a lap or in a stroller.

Where do I park?

All guest and graduate vehicles parked on Commencement day will require a Commencement-specific parking pass. Each graduate approved will be given one free parking pass. Additional parking passes will be available for purchase in limited quantities at the time of ticket distribution.

To help with capacity, accessible parking spaces for handicapped guests (in vehicles with designated placards) will be available to reserve using the ticketing site. These specially reserved parking spaces will have a designated entrance adjoining the commencement venue.

More information will be available at the time of ticket distribution, March 9, 2026.

What do I wear to the Commencement Ceremony?

We recommend that you dress for cool weather, as it can be chilly and/or windy here on May evenings. We request that you not wear stiletto heels, as they can damage the athletic field.

What items are prohibited on the field?

To preserve our field, please do not bring food into the ceremony. While we encourage cheering for our graduates, do not use confetti.

What time should I arrive?

Parking lots will open at 3:30pm, doors will open at 4:30pm for seating, and our ceremony will begin promptly at 6pm. Seats will be available on a first in line, first served basis. Please plan accordingly.

Does TMU allow graduation parties on campus before or after Commencement?

All of our staff are focused on getting ready for Commencement. Unfortunately, we do not have the resources to set up and clean up graduation parties. We recommend contacting local restaurants, hotels or the graduate’s church to host small groups. Unsanctioned events on The Master’s University premises will be asked to leave.

Does TMU partner with any hotels in the area that provide discounts?

Yes! To view the hotels which provide preferred rates for TMU guests, please visit www.masters.edu/hotels.
