Dr. Palmer’s passion for aviation began early in life, inspiring him to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (ERAU). During his college years, he experienced a transformative moment of faith when the Lord graciously saved him, altering the focus of his life and ambitions. This newfound calling led him to The Master’s Seminary (TMS), where he earned a Master of Divinity. Over time, Dr. Palmer developed a deep dedication to biblical counseling, prompting him to further his education with a Doctor of Ministry in Biblical Counseling from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (SBTS) and both a Th.M. and Ph.D. in Biblical Studies and Biblical Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (MBTS).

Since 2002, Dr. Palmer has served joyfully as the associate pastor of Grace Bible Church in Granbury, Texas. His ministry extends beyond the pulpit, as he is also a Fellow (supervisor) and board member of the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC) and the director of the Center for Biblical Counseling and Discipleship (CBCD). Additionally, he serves as a chaplain for the Civil Air Patrol, the auxiliary of the United States Air Force, further combining his love for aviation with his commitment to service.

Dr. Palmer treasures time with his wife, Lisa, and their three children—Alan, Aimee, and Aric. In his leisure moments, he enjoys jogging, playing volleyball, engaging in general aviation, and caring for saltwater reef aquariums.
