The 2020 Truth & Life Conference will address the theme “One Story”
Many have learned to see the Bible as a familiar collection of Sunday School lessons, without ever grasping the larger narrative that reveals God’s eternal plan and makes sense of all the individual stories. The Bible truly is “One Story” with a consistent and unified core message. Join us for Truth & Life 2020, as pastors Josh Petras, Austin Duncan, and Paul Twiss walk through the overarching plotline of the Bible, equipping believers to more clearly understand who God is and what He has done for us.
Josh serves as high school pastor at Grace Community Church and earned his degree from The Master’s Seminary (M.Div.), where he is currently pursuing his Doctor of Ministry degree. Having been saved in student ministries, Josh has a passion to see young people place their trust in Jesus and become functioning members of the local church. Josh has been married to Katie since 2010, and they have two children—Jude and Chloe.
Austin has served in student ministry for over a decade. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of New Mexico, he moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to attend The Master’s Seminary. After graduating, he served as the junior high and high school pastor, and he now serves as college pastor at Grace Community Church. He and his wife, Merilly, have three daughters and a son. Dr. Duncan serves as Professor of Pastoral Ministries and Director of D.Min. Studies at The Master’s Seminary.
Paul serves in the Steadfast fellowship group and as an instructor with Grace Equip at Grace Community Church. Paul loves to preach and teach the Bible and is grateful for the opportunities afforded to him at Grace Church to do this. He is blessed to be a husband to Laura and a father to six young children. Paul Twiss serves as Instructor of Bible Exposition at The Master’s Seminary. He is pursuing an Old Testament Ph.D., working specifically with the plotline of the Joseph narrative in the book of Genesis.
As the students return from winter break, we want to make sure they are encouraged in two specific ways this Truth and Life year – being revived in the Word and refreshed in their fellowship! The schedule reflects that simplicity – plenty of time in corporate worship together, and plenty of time to connect with one another individually, as a dorm, and even campus wide. In years past there has been registration for anyone not a current TMU student (alumni, locals, etc). This year we are simplifying and invite anyone to be our guest free of charge to any of the main sessions.
