On the morning of Saturday, Dec. 28, participants in the 2013 Placerita Canyon Holiday 5k will have an opportunity to run off that Christmas ham in a fun and family-friendly environment.

The fourth-annual race hosted by The Master’s College cross country & track program will begin at 9 A.M. on the campus of The Master’s College.

Adults entering (13+) will pay $25 to compete; youth entries (runners 12 years of age and under on race day) cost $20. Participants can register by clicking here. All entries include pancake breakfast and souvenir T-shirt.

On race day, check-in will begin at 7 A.M. All participants must check in prior to the 9 A.M. start time to pick up their race tags. The check-in table will be located on the baseball field.

Parking will be located on Placerita Canyon Road. You may park in any of two marked lots (see map).

Also, restrooms will be located in the parking lot of the gymnasium.

The course will start on TMC's athletic field. Runners will pass through the gate onto Quigley Canyon Rd., make a right on Cleardale, continue on Quigley Canyon Trail to the turnaround loop and run back to the athletic field, finishing on TMC's Athletic Field (Terrain: turf, pavement, dirt and sand trail). The course is almost 100 percent flat with winding turns. Please note that if inclement weather occurs, the course may be muddy.

Awards will be given to male and female top finishers in each age division. Age divisions are 11 and under, 12-18 and adult categories.

An all-you-can-eat pancake breakfast will be available immediately following the race. Meal passes for the pancake breakfast will be distributed to race participants (free) at check-in. Non-race participants may purchase meal passes for $3 a person.
