We have amazing, resilient students.
Faculty and staff have expressed that sentiment again and again the past seven weeks here at The Master’s University. Our students responded with grace and cooperation when asked to evacuate the campus. They’ve adjusted to remote instruction, even though they didn’t sign up for so many Zoom calls. And again and again, they’ve expressed their excitement, their anticipation, as they look forward to the fall semester and a return to on-campus, in-person classes.
We share that excitement.
Our faculty and staff are looking forward to a wonderful reunion this fall. We believe the in-person experience makes The Master’s University unique. And we fully intend to deliver that in-person education this fall.
When the fall 2020 semester begins this August, we intend to operate the campus at full capacity.
Dorms, dining services, athletic competition and facilities, classrooms, University Exchange, and Powell Library will be open and fully operational. And as the summer begins, we move forward with remodeling several dorms, updating classrooms, and redesigning the common areas under the oaks. When campus reopens this fall, it will offer better facilities and a world-class educational experience.
To make sure our campus can open safely, we will continue to rely on the expertise of our COVID-19 task force. They are closely monitoring developments with the virus, and they will continue to make sure the university is relying on the recommendations of local, state, and federal health officials. They are also working now to secure a stockpile of masks, gloves, and other personal protective equipment. We will follow their recommendations for event size, classroom configuration, and social distancing.
As the summer begins, this is a time of hope and expectation for all of us at The Master’s University. Pray with us and for us as we look ahead to August, trusting God and planning to provide an in-person, safe, and God-honoring education this fall.
