Commencement Day Events

  • Commencement Practice - Mandatory for all graduates - May 6, 2022 - 3:00 PMkeyboard_arrow_down

    Friday, May 6, at 3:00 PM, Location: TMU MacArthur Center (Gym)

    This is a MANDATORY event for all graduates. You will sit in one of two sections, by school. Within a school’s line up, you will be arranged alphabetically starting with Grad-level students (if applicable), followed by undergraduate students. A seating diagram will be emailed to you before practice. Signs and Line Leaders will help direct you to your seat. We will walk through the entire event. This is your opportunity to ensure your Dean will pronounce your name correctly. Please dress appropriately for walking across the stage and with appropriate footwear for walking across grass and gravel.

    Friday, May 6, Time: 4:00-6:00 PM. Location: Under the Oaks/Oaks Pavilion

    This event is your opportunity to take a group department photo with your classmates and faculty. Wear your regalia for your photo.

  • Faculty and Graduate Dinner - May 6, 2022 - 4:00-6:00 PMkeyboard_arrow_down

    Friday, May 6, Time: 4:00-6:00 PM. Location: Under the Oaks/Oaks Pavilion

    A light dinner will be served. Come eat either before or after your department photo time. This is an opportunity to eat and mingle with your classmates and faculty.

  • Line-Up for Commencement - May 6, 2022 - 6:30 PMkeyboard_arrow_down

    Friday, May 6, at 6:30 PM SHARP! Location: TMU MacArthur Center (Gym).

    Please be in line BY 6:30 pm. You will be handed a name card. DO NOT LOSE YOUR NAME CARD! You will give your name card to your dean as you approach them on stage for your name to be read as you cross the stage. Do not fold the card. Do not have anything else in your hands (other than a hood for master’s programs). Please leave any possessions that do not fit into pockets with your guests.

    You won’t have access to the bathrooms for at least an hour, so plan accordingly.

  • Commencement Ceremony - May 6, 2022 - 7:00 PMkeyboard_arrow_down

    Friday, May 6 at 7:00 PM. Location: TMU Athletic Field

    Guest Seating: Guest seating will open at 6:00 PM. ALL guests must have a ticket to enter the venue. Notify events@masters.edu if you have guests with disabilities or special needs who need additional assistance.

  • Tickets and Parking - May 6, 2022keyboard_arrow_down

    TICKETS

    • Each graduate is allowed 10 guest tickets.

    • Tickets: e-Tickets are required for entrance. No physical tickets will be provided. If you did not receive a confirmation with e-tickets, please contact events@masters.edu.

    • Additional Tickets: For additional tickets contact registrar@masters.edu. Additional tickets will be released starting Monday, April 25 on a first-come, first-served basis.

    • Faculty/staff/student tickets available starting Sunday, May 1.

    PARKING

    • Graduates are allowed to have 2 cars on campus. Parking passes can be requested during ticket reservation.

    • All cars must have a parking pass displayed on vehicle dashboard beginning at noon.

    • Student, Faculty & Staff 2021-2022 TMU parking permits will not be valid during commencement.

    • Additional passes: If graduates need more than 2 parking passes, additional parking passes can be requested during ticket reservation for $11 per car for parking at the intersection of Placerita Canyon Rd & Placeritos Rd., or $31 per car for parking near the entrance to commencement. Limited quantities available.

    • Handicapped parking and entrance will be along the south side of the field.

  • Guest Schedule - May 6, 2022keyboard_arrow_down

    5:00 pm - Parking Opens to vehicles with parking passes.

    • Handicapped parking: Handicapped pass must be reserved during ticket reservation. Handicapped parking and entrance will be along the south side of the field. Contact events@masters.edu prior to event for additional assistance.

    6:00 pm - Doors open for seating on the Reese Athletic Field. Tickets will be required to enter.

    7:00 pm - Commencement Ceremony Begins.

    • Photography and Videography: information to come.
    • Livestreaming: information to come.

    Trophy Coffee will be open.

    The Cafe will not be open for dinner.

  • Commencement Regaliakeyboard_arrow_down
    • If you have not picked up your regalia yet, you may stop by the Registrar’s Office until May 5th to pick it up. After that, your regalia will be brought to you during practice.

    • Hang up your regalia right away, or hang it in the bathroom to steam while showering to get rid of wrinkles. When using an iron, use LOW settings.

    • Caps are worn parallel to the ground with the tassel on the right.

    • Graduate level hoods will be carried over the arm until you are hooded on stage by faculty.

    • All regalia is your to keep!

    • Decorated caps & leis are not allowed.

Commencement Announcements

Photographer: Ultimate Exposures

A photographer from Ultimate Exposure will be on the TMU Campus on April 22. Students may schedule an appointment to take a professional photo in their cap and gown, or professional attire.

Where: MacArthur Center Foyer When: By appointment only.  Visit www.ultimateexposures.com to schedule an appointment.

  • Graduates who have not yet picked up their regalia may do so through the Registrar’s Office until May 5th. After that, your items will be brought to you during Practice.

  • Robe Care - DO NOT iron. Steam and hang with care as soon as possible (no later than the day before).

  • Caps - No decorations on graduation caps.

  • Attire - Sunday best. Keep an eye out for the weather. It may get chilly at night.

  • Shoes - Turf field. No flip flops or stilettos.
