Female Resident Director (10 Months)

Basic Position Description:

The Master’s College is seeking an energetic person to support the strategic mission of cultivating and maintaining a spiritual and educational environment among the student groups residing on campus.

Reports to/Supervises:

This Position reports to the and the Associate Deans and supervises 4-5 Resident Assistants and 10-15 Student Leadership staff.

Essential Duties (include, but not limited to):

Will live on campus with the primary responsibility to develop the personal, professional, and Christian growth of students by comprehensive administration of dormitory residential & Student Life programs & activities. Accountability for maintaining an exemplary role-model for the students via active leadership skills and developing within the students a lifelong commitment to self improvement. Will ensure students are trained in the “doctrinal distinctives” of the College. Use independent judgment & discretion to assist students in dealing with conflicts & will adjudicate issues of student misconduct by the application review, conflict resolution, mediation, & counseling techniques, & if necessary administering Biblically based disciplinary actions of confrontation and resolution. Extensive participation in an overwhelming majority of student activities is required, including events & activities outside the normal scope of Student Life programs and typical “workday” hours as well as summer missions. Interview, train, & supervise a staff of Resident Assistants. Conduct & attend meetings for personal & staff development, ensuring open communications between students & all levels of Student Life management. This position requires standing, sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, learning, problem solving, and interacting with others throughout the workday. Regular attendance is essential.

Qualifications (include, but not limited to):

General:

Strong administrative, organizational, managerial, self-motivational & relationship building skills are required. Two to four (2-4) years current experience of progressive responsibilities exhibiting problem solving skills involving logical processes, common sense, Biblical counseling, & shepherding; management oversight involving accountability for results.

Educational:

Bachelor’s degree required.

Skills, Mental Demands, Physical Demands, Visual Demands:

Have computer proficiency. Basic mathematics and accounting knowledge is necessary. Excellent oral and written command of the English language is required. Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence. Possess excellent organizational skills. Exercise confidentiality, good judgment and discernment. Service oriented and able to interface with many people is mandatory. Multitasked in an environment with many distractions is a must. Able to lift, pull, push, grasp and bend while lifting up to 20lbs. Repetitive motions on a keyboard, and looking at a computer monitor for an extended duration of time is required. Reading and comprehending correspondence is imperative.

Working Environment:

Indoors are comfortable with some distractions. Outdoors vary on date, time & location.

Additional Requirements:

A demonstrated commitment to the doctrinal position of TMC & S and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied capacities. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, vendors, students, &/or community members of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, & ethnic backgrounds.

Benefits and Compensation:

This is a 10 month position, working from August to May with June and July off. Medical benefits are provided for a nominal employee contribution. Group dental and vision benefits are available. The college offers an excellent, “fully vested” 403(b) retirement program.
