Lady Mustang Volleyball Douses Firestorm

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College volleyball team improved its winning streak to seven matches after taking down Arizona Christian in three sets Saturday afternoon on Bross Court.

With the win, TMC improved its overall record to 18-8 and 9-3 in GSAC play.

“We were focused this match on starting and finishing strong,” commented Head Coach Allan Vince. “We wanted to win on the service line and at the net, and the ladies did that very well today. We have a great swing of momentum heading into Tuesday's match at home.”

The Lady Mustangs battled through two close sets (25-19, 25-22) before running away with a lopsided 25-7 win in the third frame.

Statistically, Aubrey Bekendam (Orland, CA) posted 27 assists, Emily Clark (Lake Forest, CA) tallied nine digs, while Aubrey Pyburn (Sun Valley, CA) claimed 8 kills.

Collectively, TMC posted 36 kills, 33 assists, 29 digs, and a .333 attack percentage against the Firestorm.

Now, TMC is tasked with the daunting challenge of taking down Biola University, the nation’s top-ranked team, on Tuesday. First serve is set for 7:00 p.m. at Bross Court.
