Santa Clarita, Calif. – Benefitting from their club’s 12-win season and another postseason appearance, three members of The Master’s College women’s soccer squad have been named to the 2012 Women’s Soccer All-GSAC team.

Sophomore forward Shea Richards (Palmdale, CA) headlined the trio of first-time honorees, putting together one of the finest offensive seasons in program history.  Booting in 13 goals, five of those of the game-winning variety, and distributing four assists, she finished fourth in the GSAC with 30 points and tied for second in goals scored.

Joining her on the squad is sister, Kristyn (Palmdale, CA), a senior defender and four-year performer for the Mustangs.  She keyed a defense that gave up just over one goal per match and produced eight shutouts.

Rounding out the Mustang selections is junior goalkeeper Ilyssa Espiritu (Bakersfield, CA).  The junior posted six shutouts and a 1.04 goals-against average, marks that were third-best in the GSAC.  She was rewarded for her outstanding play between the pipes by being named both the GSAC and NAIA Defensive Player of the Week for the week of October 1-7.

TMC went 12-6-2 in 2012, finishing 6-4 and in fourth place in the GSAC.  The Lady Mustangs qualified for the GSAC Tournament, making it as far as the semi-finals before being ousted by eventual conference champion Vanguard.
