SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College and women’s soccer coach Curtis Lewis announce the signing of midfielder Amber Goldberg from Oaks Christian High School in Westlake Village, CA. Goldberg will conclude her four-year high school career with the Lions this year and begin competing for the Lady Mustangs in the fall of 2013.
Goldberg enters the Mustang’s program with a decorated slate consisting of leading the Oaks Christian Lions’ junior varsity soccer team as a captain her freshman and sophomore years, receiving the defensive player of the year recognition and the coaches’ award in her junior year on the varsity squad, and was also a part of the school’s 2011-2012 CIF championship squad. In addition, the midfielder is currently serving as captain for he Gold division Eagles soccer club soccer team based in Camarillo, CA.
Off the field, Goldberg is an active part of the Oaks Christian community where she is currently serving as the president of the school’s Christian Athlete Association.
“From the beginning, I wanted to attend and play soccer at a Christian college. God opened the door and allowed me to come to TMC. Already being able to spend time
with the girls has been a huge blessing, and I feel that when I’m with them next year I will be able to grow more and further my walk with Christ,” commented Goldberg after her signing.
Coach Lewis comments on the newest addition to the squad by saying, “What encourages me the most is when a player wants to attend your institution. The more that Amber got to know about TMC, the more she fell in love with it. For us as an institution, we want to find girls who are in love with the Lord and are great athletes. When you combine the two together, there is nothing better!”
With plans to major in business to pursue a career in Non-Profit management, Goldberg is hoping to make contributions to The Master’s College on and off thefield for years to come.
