Benson, Farris Earn All-American Honors

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – After leading The Master’s College women’s soccer team to a 15-6 (6-4 GSAC) record and landing the squad a spot in the NAIA National Championship Tournament for the first time in three years, Jasmine Benson (Corona, CA) and Katie Farris (Santa Clarita, CA) have been named to the 2013 NAIA Women’s Soccer All-American team.
The Lady Mustang duo was named to the Honorable Mention list in wake of the 2013 campaign.
Benson placed sixth in the GSAC in points (24), fifth in goals (10), ninth in shots (48), 12th in shots per game (2.40), seventh in points per game (1.20), fifth in goals (10), seventh in goals per game (0.50), and tied for 14th in assists (4).
In her junior campaign, Farris tallied four goals, 2 assists, 10 points, 16 shots, and 12 shots on goal. Earlier in the season, Farris was named to The GSAC Women's Soccer All-Conference Team presented by Under Armour.
The NAIA announced the 2013 NAIA Women’s Soccer All-America teams on Thursday, December 12. The NAIA All-America Committee, which consists of the NAIA-Women’s Soccer Coaches Association officers and seven additional women’s soccer coaches, select the three 11-member teams.
