NORWALK, Calif. – On Thursday, Michael Sciarra represented The Master’s College men’s track & field team at the 2016 Mt. Sac Relays in the 3000m steeplechase where he clocked a blazing time of 9 minutes and 25.3 seconds.
Notably, Sciarra’s time was just 1.3 seconds over the NAIA’s “A” standard (9:24.00), but met the NAIA’s “B” standard (9:32.00), qualifying him to compete at the 65th Annual Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships from May 26-28, at the Mickey Miller Blackwell Stadium in Gulf Shores, Alabama.
On Friday, TMC’s Skyler Mikesell achieved a new personal best in the 1500m by finishing the event in 3:52.32. Mikesell’s time met the NAIA’s “A” standard (3:53.50), also qualifying him to compete at the NAIA's Men's Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Looking ahead, Sciarra, Mikesell, and the rest of the Mustangs will compete at the 2016 Golden State Athletic Conference Championships from April 28-29 on the campus of Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
