The Master's College golf team traveled to Hemet, California to play in the California State Intercollegiate Tournament last weekend at Diamond Valley Golf Club.  The Mustangs finished in a third place tie with Point Loma, behind second place Cal Baptist and Cal State San Marcos that won the tournament.

Thane Ringler led not only the Mustangs during the two-day tournament, but the entire tournament field.  Ringler outshot the second place finisher by three strokes on his way to winning the individual side of the tournament.  He posted the low-round of the day in each of the first two rounds of the tournament.

The Mustang team demonstrated its capabilities during the second round of the tournament when they shot a low-round team total score of 280.  That score was better than any other team by at least seven strokes.

Coach Semelsberger's team will now head to the NAIA Fall Preview in Salem, Oregon.  That tournament will be hosted at Creekside Golf Club on October 3rd and 4th.  That course will be the location of the 2013  NAIA Men's Golf National Championships.
