KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced the 2014 NAIA Baseball All-America teams, selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (NAIA-BCA) All-America Selection Committee.
TMC’s Steve Karkenny represents the Mustangs on the Honorable Mention list.
Karkenny, a junior, hit .373 batting average for six home runs, 45 runs scored, 28 stolen bases, and a team-high 45 rbi.
Also earning All-GSAC honors, Scholar-Athlete kudos, and GSAC Gold Glove recognition, Karkenny was errorless in 123 chances (1.000 fielding percentage), most of those opportunities coming in 55 starts in the outfield while a few more came on the mound where he made 17 relief appearances.
At the end of the 2014 season, Karkenny stands atop of the NAIA by ranking first in fielding percentage (1.000).
