2010-2011 Academic Year

Every student must complete a Financial Aid Application to be considered for any financial aid. The Master's College offers Merit-based Scholarships, Need-based Grants, and Federal/State Aid. See below for more details.
Institutional Aid is awarded up to 4 years/8 semesters only.

Merit-Based Scholarships (FAFSA or FAFSA Waiver required)

  • Competitive scholarship awarded to full-time incoming freshmen. Applicants must have a high school GPA of 3.85 and a SAT I score (Critical Reasoning and Math sub-tests only) of 1400 or ACT score of 32. Renewable with a college GPA of 3.5.

Distinguished Scholar Scholarship
  • Awarded to traditional, full-time students
  • Minimum GPA: 3.85 and

  • Renewable with a 3.45 cumulative GPA

  • Awarded to traditional, full-time students

Achievement Scholarship
  • Awarded to traditional, full-time students

  • ACT score: 22 - 36
  • Renewable with a 3.25 cumulative GPA

Athletic Scholarship
  • Awarded by the Athletic Department to students who demonstrate athletic ability and Christian character which will contribute to The Master's College and its athletic programs. Annual application is required.
  • Please contact the Athletic department for more information.
  • Students awarded athletic scholarships may only receive Federal/State Aid and Outside or Ministry Scholarships (outside portion only) in addition to their athletic scholarship. They do not qualify for any other institutional aid.

Music Scholarship
  • Awarded by the Music Department to students who demonstrate superior music ability and who are committed to The Master's College and the ministry focus of the programs. Annual application is required.

AWANA Citation Award
  • Awarded to full-time incoming freshman or transfer students who have completed twelve years of AWANA training and who are designated as Citation Award winners.
$1,000 Copy of Citation Award
Ministry Matching Grant
  • Awarded to students who receive sponsorship from a Christian ministry. TMC will match, on a dollar-for-dollar basis, up to a total of $2,500 per student, as long as funds remain available.
  • Deadline: June 1

Need-based Grants (FAFSA required)

The Master's College Grant
  • Awarded to students based on academic achievement and financial need. The student must be enrolled full-time at The Master's College and have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
Up to $15,000 FAFSA
Early FAFSA Filer Scholarship
  • Awarded to new and transfer students who complete the FAFSA before the March 2nd priority deadline.
  • Must fill out FAFSA before March 2nd and have a 2.5 GPA.
  • Scholarship awarded automatically based on fafsa.ed.gov completion date.

International Student Grant
  • Awarded to new and continuing international student based on financial need and academic achievement.

Christian Ministry Dependent
  • Awarded to full-time students demonstrating need, who are dependents of full-time Christian ministry personnel who provide the family's primary support and whose ministries are consistent with the mission of TMC.

Doctrinal Statement of Organization
Outside Scholarship Matching Grant
  • Available to students who receive a scholarship from a source other then the federal government, state government, or TMC. The Master's College will match on a dollar-for-dollar basis up to $1,000, as long as funds remain available.
  • Deadline: Last day of Add/Drop period
Up to $1,000 Outside Scholarship Matching Application
John R. Dunkin Alumni Scholarship
  • Available for the children of graduates (with bachelor's degree conferred) of Los Angeles Baptist College or The Master's College. The applicant must demonstrate financial need, be attending TMC full time and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50.

Federal/State Aid (FAFSA required)

Cal Grant
  • Awarded to low and middle income California residents and is based on need and GPA. The student must be enrolled in at least a two year program. Annual application is required.
  • Additional documentation is required. Applicant must have submitted GPA verification (via the Registrars Office at their high school or college).
  • Deadline: March 2

Pell Grant
  • Federal program based on need.
Up to $5,350 FAFSA
Supplemental Education Opportunity Grant
  • Federal program based on need. The student must also be eligible for Pell Grant (see above).

Academic Competitiveness Grant (ACG)
  • Federal program based on need. Available to eligible freshman and sophomores who have completed a rigorous secondary school program of study. The student must also be eligible for Pell Grant (see above). For more information, click here.

National Science and Mathematics Access to Retain Talent (SMART) Grant
  • Federal program based on need. Available to eligible juniors and seniors majoring in math or science with a cumulative GPA of 3.0. The student must also be eligible for Pell Grant (see above). For more information, click here.

Federal Work Study Program
  • Part-time employment based on financial need and academic qualification. On-campus and off-campus opportunities range up to twenty hours/week.
