TMC's Gilbertson records world's fastest 10k time of the year
The clock read 28 minutes and 30.35 seconds.
That's how long it took TMC senior John Gilbertson to finish the 10k race at the 2013 Stanford Invitational in Palo Alto, Calif. on Saturday March 30. His mark was good enough to best the field of the country's top NCAA Division I collegiate runners -- Gilbertson finished four seconds ahead of the University of Oregon's Parker Stinson.
It was also the fastest 10k run in the world in 2013 -- by anyone.
For anyone wondering what Gilbertson, who won the NAIA national championship in cross country last fall, would do for an encore, this answers the question.
