The Master’s College community is mourning the loss of a family member, Mingyu “Paul” Sang. Paul was one of our incoming freshmen who arrived on campus to participate in our annual Week of Welcome. Because Paul’s passing was unexpected, and because we loved him as our brother and our friend, our grief is especially deep and painful. We pray for Paul’s family – that the God of all comfort will continue to cover them with His grace.
Paul was born in 1993 in South Korea and came to the Santa Clarita Valley five years ago. He was a faithful member of Valencia New Community Church and graduated from West Ranch High School in Stevenson Ranch in the spring.
Paul's love for Christ was evident. His desire to live his life for the glory of God brought him to a college where he knew he would be surrounded by faculty, staff and students with that same passion.
It is a profound sadness that our time with Paul was so short, but we find comfort in knowing that he is now with the Lord. The promise of eternal life for those who love Christ is the foundation of our shared faith. For all of us – especially those who came to know Paul in the days he was here – Heaven has become even more precious.
It is with heavy hearts that we begin this semester. But we do not mourn as the world mourns. Paul loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and his hope is our comfort.
