The dining center expansion will create a 2,000-square foot open-air patio which will extend toward Placerita Canyon Road and wrap around the west side of the building. The patio will be partially covered by a 1,000-foot “California Craftsman” gable roof and will allow the upper cafeteria to meet our growing student body needs. Other elements of the project include upgrades to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act, including revamped bathrooms and a new elevator serving the second floor of the student center. The project will also create a covered patio seating area on the first floor and will eliminate the current outside staircase and entrance in lieu of an indoor stairway. The entire front of the building will get a facelift. “The design of the student center will carry the theme of our Legacy Center,” said Bob Hotton, the school’s Vice-President for Operations. The project, which is slated for completion during the 2012 fall semester, addresses several years of record traditional undergraduate enrollment.
