The Master's College joined with the respected American Enterprise Institute (AEI) from Washington, D.C. to co-host its first joint forum. The event featured a discussion with Dr. Arthur Brooks, president of AEI, and Dr. John MacArthur, president of The Master's College. The event was moderated by Jack Cox, Vice President of Advancement. This event is part of a new initiative focusing on Biblical values and economics.
Today's economic problems are having a serious impact on families, government, and the private sector. Some leaders propose that we take more money from the rich and spend it on the less fortunate. This is fundamentally a redistribution of wealth, a concept that has never worked. Some social justice advocates cite the Bible as supporting this kind of economic action. Both Dr. MacArthur and Dr. Brooks noted that the Bible does not support this form of collectivism. The Bible clearly states that individual enterprise in the spirit of proper stewardship should be the basis of an economic system.
