Student Accounts Manager (Regular Full Time)

Basic Position Description:

The Student Accounts Manager oversees the day-to-day activities of the Student Accounts Office and functions as a liaison between students and the offices of Financial Aid, Student Employment and Accounting.

Reports to/Supervises:

This position reports to the Assistant Controller and has supervisory responsibilities over work study employees.

Essential Duties (include, but not limited to):

Oversee and facilitate the daily functions of the Student Accounts Office, including payments received, handling cashier services, monitoring student accounts, billing and customer service.  Build and maintain a comfortable environment for students and parents.  Assist with special projects as requested by the Assistant Controller.  Hire, schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate student employees of the office.  Plan short range project schedules and establish assignments for student employees of the office.  This position requires standing, sitting, walking, lifting, reaching, talking, hearing, seeing, learning, problem solving, and interacting with others throughout the workday.  Regular attendance is essential.

Excellent interpersonal skills are required.  Need to be a problem-solver who isolates problems and develops solutions.


Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management or related field preferred.  Some accounting/education experience preferred.  Minimum of one to two years related work experience in accounts receivable, financial aid, or related field.

Able to balance a genuine customer service attitude with a firm stand on administering policies; Good organizational skills; Effective communicator under stressful circumstances; Good written communication skills; makes others confident in his or her abilities; Strong computational abilities; able to teach others and invoke a high level of comprehension and understanding; and Proficient at utilizing technology to develop efficient work processes.  Competent in the use of spreadsheets and database applications.  Service oriented and able to interface with many people.  Multitasked in an environment with many distractions is a must.  Able to lift, pull, push, grasp and bend while lifting up to 20lbs.  Repetitive motions on a keyboard and looking at a computer monitor for an extended duration of time is required.  Reading and comprehending correspondence is imperative.

Working Environment:

Indoors are comfortable with some distractions.  Outdoors vary on date, time & location.

A demonstrated commitment to the doctrinal position of TMC & S and a continuous exhibition of a desire to minister and serve others in varied capacities.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, faculty, vendors, students, &/or community members of diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, & ethnic backgrounds.
