Award-Winning Composer, Pianist Dan Forrest to Visit TMC this Fall

Christian composer and pianist Dan Forrest will be on the campus of The Master's College on Sept. 20-23.

Forrest's choral works (with nearly a million in print) have received numerous awards and distinctions, including the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer’s Award, the ACDA Raymond Brock Award, a Meet The Composer grant, the ALCM Raabe Prize, and many others. His “A Basque Lullaby” for wind band was included in Volume 8 of the well-known Teaching Music Through Performance In Band series. His music has been performed in leading venues across the country and around the world, including Carnegie Hall, the Lincoln Center, and on NPR’s “Performance Today.”

Highlighting the visit will be a special evening concert on Friday, Sept. 21 featuring Forrest's "Te Deum," "How Great Thou Art," "The King of Love My Shepherd Is" and more.

Mass choir will consist of TMC students as well as area music alumni. TMC music graduates wishing to perform are invited to contact The Master's College Music Department.
