Concordia Downs Mustangs in Three Sets

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College volleyball team fell to the third-ranked Concordia University Eagles in three sets (18-25, 20-25, 23-25) Saturday night at Bross Court.

The loss moved TMC’s record to 13-9 and 4-5 in GSAC play.

The Lady Mustangs trailed the Eagles for almost the entirety of the match until TMC jumped to a 7-4 lead in set three.

After the Lady Mustangs tied the game on seven separate occasions, Concordia unlocked an 18-18 gridlock off a TMC service error.   After CUI reeled off five points, the Lady Mustangs halted the Eagles’ soaring offense by tying the match at 23-23. Unfortunately, decisive kills from Jessica Israel and Kyra Auten gave the Eagles a 25-23 set-three victory, sealing the match at 3-0.

Leading the stat sheet, Aubrey Bekendam posted 27 assists, Emily Clark notched 23 digs, and Ashley Kuhlman earned 10 kills.

Looking ahead, the Lady Mustangs will travel to Fullerton on Tuesday to take on Hope International.  First serve is set for 7:00 PM.
