The Master's College women's volleyball cruised to a quick 3-0 victory over the visiting San Diego Christian College Hawks at Bross Gym, winning 25-13, 25-17, and 25-14. The win lifts the Mustangs to 15-4 (3-1) and drops the Hawks to 5-12 (0-4).
The Lady Mustangs won each set by at least eight points as they were in control from the opening serve. Coach Blanken's team made quick work of SDCC, as the match took less than an hour and a half to complete.
Samantha Dougherty continued her stellar play, leading the Lady Mustangs with 15 kills and a .444 hit percentage. She also added three service aces. Setter Jamie Long pitched in with 24 assists, and libero Rebecca Gieske had 13 digs.
The Hawks were lead by Rachel Allen who had seven kills and Stephanie Rice who produces nine digs.
Blanken's team continued to show the marked improvement it has demonstrated in his second year as head coach. The team has already doubled last season's win total and still has much of the conference season remaining.
TMC will return to the court on Tuesday night as they host perennial power Fresno Pacific at 7:00 pm.
