Santa Clarita, Calif. – Just a few days after the 2013 campaign ended, The Master’s College volleyball program was already making plans for the future.
One of those plans comes in the form of signing Morgan Koch of Auburn, CA.
The 6-1 Forest Lake Christian senior will assist the Lady Mustangs at the middle blocker position in 2014.
Off the court, Koch plans to major in Kinesiology & Physical Education for a career as a physical therapist.
Koch enters The Master’s College with an impressive athletic resume consisting of team MVP runner-up in her sophomore and junior years, 2011 Nevada County Athlete of the Year runner-up, and captain of the varsity team her senior year.
Academically, Koch excelled in the classroom by making it on Forest Lake Christian’s academic honor roll her freshman, sophomore, and junior years.
Commenting on her signing, Koch said, “What first impressed me about The Master's College was how friendly and outgoing everybody was; as I spoke with them further, I saw their love for the Lord and their intentionality in showing it. I look forward to creating new friendships not only with the volleyball team, but with others, as well. But first and foremost, I am excited to dig deeper into Scripture and really get to know more about the God who created me.”
And even before she takes to the court, Koch’s collegiate athletic goals are straightforward.
“I want to claim a Golden State Athletic Conference title and to bring God all the glory in the process.”
Head coach Bobby Blanken feels that Koch will fit in perfectly with the Mustangs.
“We’re excited about the potential that Morgan brings with her height and athleticism,” commented Blanken. “With her values and heart, she’s aligned with our team’s vision. She looks to have a promising future.”
The Lady Mustangs finished their 2013 campaign with a 23-9 record. TMC made a strong postseason run before falling to Wayland Baptist in the quarterfinal round of the NAIA Volleyball National Championship tournament.
