MARION, Ind. -- Ayla Draper (Visalia, CA) struggled in her first appearance at the NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships.
Competing in heat one of the women's 400m hurdle preliminary round, Draper felt off rhythm from the gun. Suffering through the race, Ayla posted a time of 1:05.96 and failed to advance to the next round.
"It just wasn't her day," said Coach Zach Schroeder. "It's tough to see it end this way, but she had a good season. She's only a sophomore, so hopefully we'll be back again next year."
