SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The Master’s College women’s track team gains depth with the recent signing of Ellie Kindlund.

“I chose The Master’s College because it's wonderful,” assessed Kindlund on her choice of higher education. “TMC was by far my favorite visit. The environment is so conducive to spiritual and personal growth and I could tell that people just love each other all across campus. Also, I've only gone to public school in a very liberal Northwest town, so I'm really pumped to be somewhere where I'm encouraged and strengthened by my peers instead of challenged.”

Kindlund, a native of Bellingham, Washington, specializes in the triple jump and pole vault – events no Lady Mustang has ever competed in under the banner of The Master’s College.

“I'm excited to be a part of the expansion of the track program, as well!” further commented Kindlund. “I think it is going to be a lot of fun to see the program grow.”

The newest member of The Master’s College track program enters her collegiate career with a resume from Bellingham High School consisting of accolades such as earning a spot on the all-state track team in 2013, swim and dive team captain, All Northwest Conference first-team (gymnastics), All Northwest Conference seond-team diver, and All Northwest Conference second-team 4x50 relay.

When not competing, Kindlund excelled in the classroom as made evident by a trove of academic honors highlighted by posting a consistent 4.0 GPA, being a recipient of an AP Scholar with Honor in 2013, a Washington Achievement Council's Scholar Award Nominee, and a National Merit Commended Student.photo.JPG

Already looking to compete with excellence as a Lady Mustang, Kindlund has her eyes set on lofty, but reachable, goals.

“I would like to compete at my best and improve as much as possible; and I'm willing to work hard enough to make that happen, God willing. Hopefully, I won't get hurt! If I can make nationals and place well there in a year or two, I would be happy, but you never know.”

Looking to another fruitful 2014-15 season, the Lady Mustangs will be graduating three key seniors, but returning six seasoned veterans. To date, the squad has signed four freshmen.
