Lady Mustangs Stampede Pomona-Pitzer Invite

CLAREMONT, Calif. – The Lady Mustang track team was represented by five different athletes in the Pomona-Pitzer Invitational on Saturday.
Ayla Draper (Visalia, CA) competed in both the 100m Hurdles and the 400m Hurdles. Draper won her heat of the 100m Hurdles in 15.17 seconds. In the 400m Hurdles, Draper suffered a spill towards the end of her race and finished the event in 67 seconds.
In the 1,500m, Hannah Kellerman (Sartell, MN), Karis Frankian (Saugus, CA), and Katrina Graham (Riverside, CA) all produced strong showings for The Master’s College.
Kellerman set a new school record and new personal record as she finished the event in 4 minutes and 35 seconds, 5.10 seconds under the NAIA’s “A” standard (4:40.10). Frankian set a new personal record as she finished her race in 4:40.65, only 55 hundreths of a second away from the NAIA’s A Standard. Graham posted a strong showing as she completed the event in 4:51.
Kellerman also made a strong appearance in the 800m as she finished the race in 2:18.
Coming off of a phenomenal showing at the Mangrum Invite last weekend was Micayla Frankian (Saugus, CA). This week, Frankian completed the 5,000m event in 18:53, 17 seconds faster than her previous personal best record.
The Lady Mustangs now look to compete at the prestigious Mt. Sac Invitational next weekend (April 19-20) in Walnut, California.
Karis Frankian is slated to compete in the Women’s 5K, while Kellerman will represent The Master’s College in the Women’s 1,500m.
