NAIA Women's Track National Championships Recap: Day 2
May 24, 2013
Marion, Ind. – The 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships continued Friday where Ayla Draper (Visalia, CA) competed in the 100m Hurdles prelim.
Draper completed her heat in 15.18 seconds, failing to qualify for Saturday’s final race. The junior Lady Mustang now looks to rebound Saturday in the final 400m Hurdle race.
Due to a small number of entries in women’s 5,000m prelim, Karis Frankian (Saugus, CA) automatically advanced to the 5k final tomorrow at 2:30 PM. Frankian enters the women’s 5,000m final being ranked fourth on the NAIA National Performance List.
Notably, in wake of yesterday’s stellar performance in the 10k, the standout freshmen looks to earn double All-American honors tomorrow in the 5k – a feat never accomplished by a Lady Mustang track athlete.
Joining Draper and Frankian tomorrow in the final day of the 2013 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships is Hannah Kellerman (Sartell, MN), who is scheduled to compete in the women’s 1500m final at noon.
