It is often said that to accomplish anything in life you must take it "one step at a time." In building a competitive women's distance program at The Master's College, Coach Zach Schroeder has done just that. He has gone out and found the quality people, one at a time, that it will take to not just win a race, but to build a program. With his most recent find, Zach feels that he has taken the step that will take his program to the next level.

With a foundation set with the talent Schroeder has found over the last several years, Parsons will not be the first competitve runner for TMC's women, but perhaps the one that can push them over the top into a team to be reckoned with. She has run the three-mile in 18:25, completed Mt. SAC's course in 18:29 and put up times on the track of 2:18 in the 800 meters, 5:25 in the 1600 meters and 12:05 over 3200 meters. Schroeder couldn't be happier to add Parsons to his roster, " "We are stoked to have Kristen joining our women's team.  She's a perfect fit; our women's team loves her.  Kristen is the final piece of the puzzle we need to chase down a berth in the national championships for cross country this fall."

The freshman fits in not only athletically, but personally, saying, "I chose The Master's College because of its focus and priority of God being placed first in your life and its excellent athletic and academic programs." In her time at the college she hopes to major in Kinesiology & Physical Education with an emphasis in sports injury studies and an additional major in music. At the same time she's looking to excel outside of the classroom.  "My athletic goals are to run multiple PR's, help the team go to nationals, and earn All-American honors by the end of my collegiate running career, while glorifying God with every step."
