Lady Mustangs Make Case For Top Ten Ranking
The Master's College women's cross country team returned from the 22nd Vanguard Invitational Saturday with its greatest finish in program history, finishing second overall. The NAIA's No.1 ranked team, Azusa Pacific won the event with a team time of 1:31:19. The No. 12 Lady Mustangs completed the course in 1:34:31, ahead of five other GSAC teams.
Coach Zach Schroeder's team made a strong case for a top ten ranking in the nation when next week's poll comes out on Wednesday.
Holly Kopp continued an outstanding sophomore season, completing the 5K course in 18:05. The Kenai, Alaska native finished third in the individual standings.
Hannah Kellerman was not far behind Kopp, finishing eighth overall in 18:29.
Junior Sarah Pattison nearly ran a 6:00 mile average in finishing 18th with an overall time of 18:56.
