The 2011 NAIA National Championship meet came to a conclusion for freshman Holly Kopp Saturday night after the women's 5000m final. The first female athlete from TMC to race at the NAIA national meet, Kopp put together a tough race, following a tremendous effort Friday night. Finishing 12th overall in 17:55, Kopp proved herself to be among the best freshmen in the nation. "Finishing 12th in the nation is a big deal, and a huge step forward for our women's program," Coach Schroeder said. "It's a blessing to work with athletes like Holly. God has truly blessed both our men's and women's teams with special kids. All I can say is that it's simply God's hand of blessing. When you see a program like ours experiencing the amount of success we've seen this past year, it's very obvious that God delights in showing Himself strong through the weak."
