SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has announced that 296 women’s cross country student-athletes have been named 2013 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athletes.
Of the 296 harriers, four Lady Mustangs represent The Master’s College women’s cross country team on the scholar-athlete list: Micayla Frankian (Saugus, CA), Katrina Graham (Riverside, CA), Jessica Hawley (Santa Clarita, CA), and Hannah Kellerman (Sartell, MN).
On Saturday, Graham placed 39th overall at the NAIA Cross Country National Championship race in 18 minutes and 40.45 seconds, while Kellerman finished in 77th-place at 19:04.38. The 7th-ranked Lady Mustangs tallied 366 points in the 5k race with a combined time of 1:36:24.09.
In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or Sports Information Director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and must have achieved a junior academic status to qualify for this honor.
