Draper and Team Moving in the Right Direction
The Women's Track and Field team competed in the Westmont
Collegiate Classic last Friday and Saturday, turning in another
stepping-stone performance. Hannah Kellerman and Sarah Pattison
competed in the 1500m on Saturday afternoon. Kellerman won
her heat with a time of 5:00.50; Pattison finished 3rd in the same
heat, setting a new personal record of 5:04.06.
Apart from the distance team, TMC freshman Ayla Draper competed in
the heptathlon with the seven-event competition spanning the course
of two days. Scoring 4024 points, Draper's mark is currently
4th on the NAIA national performance list in the heptathlon.
Teammate Caitlyn Ramirez also competed in the heptathlon over the
weekend, scoring 3780 points, and is currently 7th on the
performance list. In order to earn a berth to the NAIA
Outdoor Track and Field National Championships, Draper and Ramirez
will have to keep scores within the top 16 nationally.
