March 4, 2014
SANTA CLARITA, Calif. -- Sandwiched in between the close of the regular season and the start of the GSAC Tournament, the Golden State Athletic Conference has announced that TMC’s Jacquelyn Marshall and Zoe Scott have been selected to its 2013-14 women’s all-conference team.
Marshall, a senior forward from San Clemente, California and an all-conference choice for the second consecutive year, led the GSAC with 52 blocked shots, was second in rebounding (10.5rpg), fifth in field goal percentage (50.9%), and sixth in scoring (16.2ppg).
During the course of the campaign, she notched 16 double-doubles, scoring a season-high 29 points vs. Merrimack (MA) on 11/29/13 and yanking down a career-best 21 rebounds against Wayland Baptist (TX) on 11/28/13.
On the cusp of closing out a stellar, four-year career with the Mustangs, Scott, a senior guard from Spokane, Washington, earned All-GSAC honors for the first time. She averaged a career-high 10.1ppg and became just the 12th player in program history to reach the career 1000-point club (currently at 1141 points).
The sharpshooter’s 66 three-pointers tied for the fourth-best mark in the conference and enabled her to become the most prolific long-distance shooter in school history (currently at 235 career trifectas). She posted season-highs of five three-pointers and 21 points against top-ranked Vanguard on 2/4/14.
Along with their teammates, this dynamic duo will lead the No. 7 Lady Mustangs into the GSAC Tournament Wednesday evening when they host San Diego Christian in a first-round game.
