POMONA, Calif. – Members of The Master’s College men’s track and field team racked up new personal records and a handful of individual wins at the historic Pomona-Pitzer Invitational.

Matthew Crichton (Mission Viejo, CA), Josh Sherfey (Stevenson Ranch, CA), and Daniel Eller (Los Angeles, CA) all ran the 1,500 meters with great performances running 3 minutes 54.63 seconds, 3:58.53, and 4:11.31.

The high jump was the next event where TMC’s Jason Logan (Spartanburg, SC) ended with a height of 6 feet 6 inches while attempting a height of 6’8”.

The 1,500 meter crew was back in the 800 meters with both Crichton and Sherfey winning their heats in respectable times of 1:56.38 and 1:58.09.  Eller finished his heat with a time of 2:04.64.

The 5,000 meters was the last event which consisted of John Hurd (Fairview, PA), Tyler Tockstein (Canyon Country, CA), Ryan Freeman (Highland, CA), and Taylor Koh (Rancho Santa Margarita, CA) running times of 15:16, 15:24, 15:49, and 16:14.  Tockstein and Koh put the icing on the cake by setting new personal records.

“It was a great day on a great track,” commented Hurd. “We had a lot of personal records set today. The team gave a lot of support being the loudest on the track.”

Looking ahead, the Mustangs will compete at the GSAC Championship meet on April 25 and 26 at Westmont College in Santa Barbara.
