Stabbert Signs With Mustangs

June 13, 2014

SANTA CLARITA, Calif. – Adding to a deeply talented roster, Sanford Stabbert has signed to play for The Master’s College men’s soccer team in 2014.

“I’m looking forward to living away from home and being surrounded by young Christians,” commented Stabbert. “I’m also hopeful in winning a championship for The Master’s College.”

Stabbert possesses an impressive resume from Franklin Pierce High School in New Pathways, Washington, earning honorable mention All-South Puget Sound League honors his sophomore year, and Most Inspirational Leader and second-team All-SPSL kudos his senior year.

Academically, Stabbert is an honors graduate and the class of 2014’s valedictorian at Franklin Pierce.

The Tacoma, Washington, native looks to aid the Mustangs at the center and outside midfielder spots or the center and outside defender positions.

Off the pitch, Stabbert looks to major in Biblical Studies for a career as a youth pastor.

Commenting on Stabbert’s commitment, head coach Jim Rickard stated, “Sanford is a fast, skilled player who loves to attack.  He has a nose for the goal which is a great attribute for an outside back.  After a great high school career, Sanford played at a community college and gained even more quality experience.  Sanford also has a desire to grow in his walk with the Lord and to be an example for his teammates.”

The 2014 season will begin with the Mustangs traveling to Salt Lake City, Utah, for Westminster’s annual Kickoff Classic.  On August 23, the Mustangs will face the University of Great Falls in a 4:00pm match.  The next day, the Mustangs will take on the host Griffins at 2:30pm.

Stabbert will make his debut on Reese Field in TMC’s home opener against Marymount College on Tuesday, August 26 at 4:00pm.
